I remember seeing the unit Disney used that
was 2 Mitchell 35MM Movie Cameras and the
images reflected off mirrors. to adjust
interoccular, the mirrors and optics were
adjusted. This was done because the cameras
were too large to sit side by side.

The Mitchell were in large housings and crane
mounted. Big as a Volkswagen Beetle.
