   I also have the Pentax, and I only get a dark band down the middle
of the picture if I use an f/stop smaller than f/8. If you use a
bigger stop than f/5.6, the two images will overlap at the center.
Pentax recommends using a 50-55mm lens at either f/5.6 or f/8.=20
