P3D VM cutter question

I'm just getting around to mounting my first VM pictures (they've only
been sitting around ready to cut for 3 months :( ). My Mk II cutter
started acting up on the second roll. The left cutting blade seems to cut
from right to left, and most of the time, it is not properly cutting the
left edge of the slide, so when cut, the slide takes part of the thin
strip left from the previous cut with it.

This didn't happen with the first roll at all. That was a roll of Sensia.
The roll that is acting up is Kodachrome 64.

I'm not sure whether this is a sign of a dull blade, or of the film not
being held down properly or if K64 is just a slippier film.

If it is a dull blade, what can be done to sharpen the cutting edges?
