A clarification: The Realist of course has a focus adjustment wheel
on the right hand side of the camera and it would not do any good to
put a filter there.  ;)  The ring around either lens of a Realist
adjusts the aperture; that is where the sunshade/filter holder goes.

Funny you should mention that...I checked my Revere again this morning
and managed to get the retaining ring unscrewed.  When I first checked,
in a sleepy state, I couldn't get anything to turn separately from
the aperture/shutter speed adjustment rings.  But it turns out that
if you hold those adjustment rings and turn the thin retaining ring
separately, it does unscrew.  It may stick a bit at first.

A step-up adapter is another possibility.

If Mark Dottle is listening, perhaps he could update us on the status
of his attempt to design a filter holder to allow the use of Cokin
series P filters with his Realist.
