P3D Re: Viewer Bulb Bargain

I've been using a bulb in my viewers for some time now that seems to
work quite well and is very cheap.  It stays quite bright as the
batteries wear down and I haven't had one burn out yet.  It fits in all 
viewers.  

It's the Radio Shack #243 prefocus lamp.
they come 2 to a package for $1.19.
It's their catalog #272-1124

Since it's a prefocus lamp you would expect it to direct lots of light
straight upward and that this might be a problem.
It's not.

Why don't some of you try these and see if you agree with my assessment?
