P3D Shutter clean,lens coating gone?

I am very happy with my Revere 33. I solved the problem with the rewind
mechanism (lack of lubrication on a certain spot). The other problem is
a very slow shutter. The front plate is loose now. Strange enough,
listening to the sound of the shutter, it seems to me it is no longer
slow...Nevertheless I should like to clean it with some solvent.
I have read the information on solvents for shutters which Bill Davies
has sent us (thanks Bill).
My question:
Which solvent is absolutely harmless concerning the coating of the
lenses of my dear camera? (I assume the Revere 33 has coated lenses).
Mr. Jess Powell's advice: Carter's Rubber Cement Thinner. However here
in Holland I can't buy that thinner and sending it to Europe is probably
prohibited.
Thanks very much in advance.
