It is the worst sort of vandalism to selectively quote a man.  Let us look 
at my full and original statement:

If you have seen a picture of Eric's wife, you know that this vision 
of pulchritude overcompensates for any sort of failings of physiognomy 
in her husband.  So on a family-unit average basis, my statement is still, 
obviously, quite correct.
