P3D Slide Scanners?
The price of slide/negative scanners seems to be dropping to a more
reasonable $500. Perhaps now it is the time for me to buy one. Why? (Bob
Maxey asked some time ago). For a number of reasons, from being able to
put stereo pairs in our newsletters, to distributing prints (scanned from
slides) to friends.
What should I look for? For my purpose it appears that convenience is
above resolution. Ideally, it would be nice if the scanner will accept an
Albion or RBT mounted stereo pair. Single chips would be OK too.
There was a review of the HP Photosmart(?) scanner some time ago. I also
see a scanner by Olympus for a bit less. Has anyone tried these scanners
for scanning stereo slides? Any help would be appreciated!
