P3D Autochrome
During the open part of the meeting of the O-hi-O Stereo Photographic
Society, member Chuck Weiss talked about his lot of (mostly) stereo
glass slides and negatives that he got sometime back. These stereo
pictures were taken with a Jules Richard "Verascope" stereo camera
in the turn of the century. Many of the slides were in color,
taken on Autochrome plates. Autochrome was the most satisfactory
process for producing color slides until the introduction of
Kodachrome in 1935. I asked Chuck to copy some of these slides
and present them in a future meeting. These would be the earliest
color images I have seen.
Color rules!
