I've still got to go with relative expense of special projectors, screens,
and glasses, when the movie business was on hard times (competition with
TV), along with the bad press stoked by poor projection - at least that's
how it may have happened in 1953. As for the early '80s revival...well,
can anyone name a halfway good movie from that lot? Not just technically -
I mean a film you could watch and enjoy flat? (If you judge wheter a slide
merits 3-D treatment, figure that much more for a movie!)
