Linda asked about a starting point for nightime exposures of lighted
buildings etc.  

In my experience using ISO 100 film and shooting wide open (f3.5), start
with an exposure of 2 seconds.  Then double it to 4, 8, 16, and 32
seconds.  One or two will look good.  That's not a lot of film to use to
get a good exposure in a difficult situation.  Of course if you're
stopped down, compensate accordingly.

The main point is, YOU MUST BRACKET
WIDELY.  Using a couple of extra frames of film is much easier than
coming back later for a second try.
