Hi all,

I've lost the original, so I can't quote, but DocTee disagreed with my
comments about window violations in movies. He said he likes it when they
do that.

I didn't say it should never be done, it's an impressive trick. Done once
or twice. Make a habit of it and it gets as old as Jerry Finnerman's soft
focus filter. Who he? He was in charge of the cameras on the original
Star Trek series. Remember how foggy the women's stations on the bridge
got? Kirk's chair too on a bad day. :-D

Good 3D movies could do so much more.

I've just thought of one reason why it's unlikely to happen though.
Tight-fisted bean counters in Hollywood. It seems strange in an industry
which is happy to pay 13 million for a brief look at Demi Moore's plastic
padding, but they do skimp on film stock. The negs are even 35mm when it
will be enlarged to 70mm for distribution. So try convincing them to use
twice as much on *every* shot? Not a chance!
