Assuming, of course, that there is infinity in the pictures. This is an
important assumption because I have not seen many "mixed" shows where
this is the case. Usually there are plenty of tabletops, close-ups, etc.
that come in-between pure scenics.
In an "one theme" show where, say, all the slides are regular stereos from
Grand Canyon, it makes good sense to mount them with constant infinity.
