P3D Nimslo questions

Hi all,
I have a new-to-me Nimslo and a bunch of
questions.
1) I figured I'd test it out with a roll of
slide film (and then mount the outer pairs
for viewing). It the autoexposure system
accurate enough for slide film or am I just
wasting ten bucks?
2) Eventually I want to stick a CU lens
over the middle two lenses and do some
macro type shots. My understanding is that
when I have the Nimslo flash attached and
switched on the camera defaults to 1/30 and
f5.6 which won't give much depth of field.
Does the shutter flash sync at all shutter
speeds? IE can I use a different flash and
shine a light into the cameras sensor to make
it use 1/500 and f16 to get some DOF?
Ideally I'd like to use one of those super
bright LEDs to trick the camera since they
are nice and small. Has anyone else tried
this? Are they bright enough? Or do I need
to use a mini-mag light?
3) The manual states that the camera is
prefocused for 2m to infinity. So this may
mean that the lenses are focused at 4m.
This would be equivalent to 0.25 diopter CU
lens on the front of a camera focused at
infinity. If I put a +2 CU lens in front
and I assume the in-focus point is where a
+2.25 CU lens would place it? Or is there
something wrong with my math or simplification?
4) Still wondering if anyone from Canada
has used Nimstec for lenticulars. If so, how
much did it end up costing (from them, plus
any customs charges).
Thanks - Greg E.
