There are a couple of upcoming stereo card exhibitions that some of you
folks who say you are making stereo cards might want to participate in.

A. Second Delaware Stereo Card Exhibition - Awards include Gold DVCCC
Medal for Best of Show, Silver DVCCC Medal for Best Novice (maker with
fewer than 18 acceptances in stereo exhibitions and no stereo exhibition
medals) Silver DVCCC Medal for Best New Image ( entry form must show
eligible images -- never accepted by any exhibition in any format) plus 3
Bronze DVCCC Medals for Judge's Choice. Closing date is 17 Jan 1998.
For entry form and information contact L. T Maniscalco, 1304 Oberlin
Road, Wilmington DE 19803-5110

B. The Fiftieth Annual Chicago Lighthouse International Exhibition of
Stereo Photography. This exhibition is finally sponsoring a stereo card
section, after 49 years without one. Stereo Card Awards include PSA
Stereo Division Gold Medal for Best of Show and the M&D Trophy for the
Best Image Depicting a 1990s Current Event. Closing date 4 March 1998.
For entry form and information contact General Chairman Marion L. Smith,
FPSA 145 West Park Avenue, Wheaton IL 60187-6459

The Chicago exhibition is especially noteworthy as it is conducted for
the benefit of The Chicago Lighthouse, for people who are blind or
visually impaired. I can't think of a more worthy cause which involves
stereography and I recommend that all print makers participate in both
these exhibitions.

More and more of the stereo exhibitions are beginning to realize that
stereo cards are a viable means of stereographic expression. Now if we
can convince Detroit, Hollywood and the Southern Cross as well as the
Ruhrgebiet Exhibition in Germany to have a stereo card section in their
exhibitions!!
