P3D Importance of lens coatings

I just finished the cleaning of the shutter of my Revere. Seems to work
perfectly now so I am a happy man. However: one of the last things I did
was cleaning softly the front lenses with water to which I had added 2
drops of dish cleaner (2 drops in a cup of water). I used a cotton bud.
I had read somewhere that this would be harmless for the lens coating.
However I was seized with fear when I saw suddenly that the cotton bud
had become BLUE, so I think I have removed the coating.
I think this is a warning for others.

My question: how important is the lenscoating? And if it is very
important: is it possible to RE-coat and at what price?

The first testfilm was spoiled because the shutter was FAR too slow so I
can't compare with earlier shots with this Revere.

Thanks in advance!
