P3D Why Quit Stereo Photography

Dr. T asks why a person would quit stereo photography? As a newcomer (
and a potential quitter at times) I can only speak for myself and
perhaps some others. I work 9-5 as we all work I'm sure. I mix audio in
a studio 1-2 nights. I perform music every weekend. I try to workout at
least 1-2 days.....yeah,yeah....everyone is busy too.right? I consume
many hours of my time reading or responding to posts....at all
hours....I check the list to read and learn, a very valuable place to
share ideas. And oh yea...I try to shoot a roll and mount slides every
week.
I'm managing to fit all of this in so what is the problem?
Getting things done! I get angry with myself for spending so much
time on the list. I spend money like crazy supporting my interest. I am
humbled by how little I really know compared to others on this list and
I want to know everything
today! My musical finesse has suffered alittle,
my interest in stereo hasn't peaked yet and I'm at the crossroads of a
decision as to what "stays" and what "goes".
Perhaps some people don't quit stereo photography but would rather go
out and "do it"
as opposed to talking about it. For many this list represents experts
and aspiring experts of which many hobbyists may be content with the
recreational aspects and not as concerned with the technical aspects of
stereo. However, it seems that one cannot exist without the other.
At times we have alot of fun on this list and also at times we can
"bully" others and seem less than friendly to those we share an interest
with.
( I'm as guilty as anyone :-) )
If I disappear from this list it is unlikely that I gave up .....but
perhaps getting out there and "doing it" by creating satisfying images
may be the most valuable use of my time. Don't cringe Dr.T.....people
may leave and come back.....I think I'm a "lifer" ( at least let me win
a competition and I'll stay :-) ) MARK DOTTLE
HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone !!
