Ray, you are as much an artist with the pen as you are with red 
and blue inks!  Your colorful words make my definitions look 
sterile.  8-)  Regardless, it looks like we are in agreement on 
the big concepts:

1) Orthostereography attempts to replicate the geometry of the 
original scene

2) This is impossible to do perfectly for all observers inasmuch 
as all observers are different in a number of areas

3) One need not limit oneself to orthostereographic presentations 
if one has the ingenuity and skill to use non-ortho to good effect

This is not to deny that I am indeed an ortho-nut who takes his 
slide bar shots with a stereobase matching his IPD and uses 
matching taking and viewing lenses.  So you and I live in 
different parts of the stereo world, but then we all do, don't we?
