Thank you John! I was thinking that "filtering" is some kind of action
and did not know that "optically active" carries a special meaning.  
As a matter of fact, the previous poster just dropped a reply from personal 
correspondence into photo-3d.  I was wondering about the choice of 
terminology here.  I wanted to know if there was a reason for the choice 
of these terms.  Apparently, the other poster did not know of any particular 
reason, other than some authority that has used them.  Now, thanks to you, 
I know better.
