Not to brag or anything, but I find if I really concentrate on all the
depth cues in a video/movie that I can for a few moments jump into 3D
mode without glasses, movement or not - if there are sufficient other clues.
It has a distinctly different "feel" experiencing this as opposed to
intellectually knowing that one object is in front of another (partially
obscuring).
The effect is pretty "cardboardy" though, since there's insufficient
information to get any sense of rounded shapes.
Having movement greatly intensifies the effect. Interestingly
enough I didn't experience this until after I started watching some Pulf
stuff, however. It seems like there is a learning curve associated with
the ability to do this - like how you know how freeviewing "feels" once
you do it, it's much easier the next time...it would be pretty interesting
to see if I could get the same effect with only one eye open (thus
eliminating the Pulf effect). I'll have to see if I can "get" it...
