I had hoped it wasn't necessary to insult the intelligence of most of the list
members by over-specifying that it was "*CRT-based* monitors about which I was
writing.
(Seriously, Mike, how many list members are likely to be using "Direct View
Storage Tube" displays [so-called "vector" or "stroke-based" displays, which
only display straight lines in a single color {green}] to do 3D graphics
today? Yes, flat panel displays are coming, but currently cost thousands of
dollars for a typical desktop-size [15" or more] display. I doubt whether many
of our frugal list members are using one, somehow.)
