I think a point to be made is that many if not all of those folk
probably are "2D enthusiasts", not "photographic enthusiasts". They
have already defined the "arena" of their interest and choose to stay
within their bounds. I don't mean this to sound bad. People's hobbies
usually have to become specialized in some form, even within what may
sound like a field already well bound. People who collect photographica
will limit themselves to just cameras, and further limit to just a
certain time period, and even then for only certain styles within that
time period. In other words specialization has already "set in". I
suspect that non-club goers would be more flexible because they haven't
already decided upon their "specialty" so strongly as yet.

I think an RBT camera might have helped in this case. Or maybe not.
