Exactly!  I show intentional flat images and compare them with the
same images with depth.  When I mount the flat images I make sure
that there is no window.  The extra depth of seeing the image behind
the stereo window fools the brain into thinking that there is depth
if the actual picture too.  

This also works the other way around.  When I have pictures that are 
flat by nature (very distant objects), I mount them behind the window 
and it works well.
