In last issue; Dec. 1997 Scientific American mentioned:
Slaying the Age Paradox
The Eureopean Space Agency's satellite Hipparcos launched in 1989 use
parallax to capure a stereoscopic view of space in order to try to
verify the distance to individual stars. Then the information was
combined with brighness and spectral information with far away similar
stars in order to better estimate the age of the universe. The
stereobase? 186 million miles apart!(Remote radio controlled I guess!)
(S.A. p 19)
New 3-D Photography (S.A.50 Years ago Dec 1947)
"A new type of glass...deleted...and once developed the image is
extremely permanent and is free from the graininess encountered with
some silver emulsions." Can anyone who read S.A. explain this old news
in a better way? (S.A. p 10)
Bringing up Baby (in-3D)
This notice deals with the critical age for proper development of the
brains depth perception which takes place in humans at the age of three
months.(S.A. p 17)
