In truth, it's that way because the Vivid was originally designed
to be a European format camera.   At the last minute before going
into production, Kodak came out with a camera using Realist format.
So they had to do some last  minute modifications to make the Vivid
5P and match the standard being set by Kodak.

I like my Vivid (not "mint" though) because it seems to have
very sharp lenses.
