William Duggan:
I did appreciate very much your message about your experience with
screens. It is great to find someone with screen responsibility and
who has done some testing. I am trying to get set up for some stereo
projection on larger screens than I have used in the past. I was
impressed by the Harkness Spectral 2000 screen that was used by the
World Stereo Congress in Holland last year. After looking at it
carefully it appeared to me to have littte ghosting and little drop off
at reasonable angles to the axis of projection. I have been trying to
get in touch with Harkness for some time and have finally done so as
shown in the copies of messages below. You mentioned significant drop
off and ghosting on the screen used in the previous Congress in the UK.
I do not know if it was a Harkness but I suspect it might have been.
Have you actually checked a Spectral 2000? If so I would very much
like to know the results. Really I am only looking for a good stereo
screen and one that I can use in two sizes, one approximately 8x12 feet
and the other 5x8 feet.
