  From what I have heard on P3D the Japan one
is the only one that allows you to get B(ulb)
by putting the batteries in backwards.

  But my UK one does do Bulb if you connect
the second contact on the hot shoe to the
foot of the hot shoe.  Don't know if this
can damage the camera, but mine is still
working. Try it at your own risk.

  Some people have said that the Japan
version is better built/more reliable
especially in the electronics. I don't
know.
