It's interesting that you mentioned that. A friend of mine with no
film background can vividly remember details regarding the old three
panel Cinerama and 70MM Todd-AO films from the early 50's, but he too
remembers seeing "House of Wax" and "Creature" with red & blue glasses,
v.s the actual polaroid glasses which were used. Perhaps the anaglyph
comicbooks of the time, plus the various incarnations of anaglyph
(3DTV, film re-releases, etc) inbetween may have clouded the public
perception.

Actually the anaglyph versions of "Creature from the Black Lagoon"
and "It Came From Outer Space" were released in the early 1970s.
Later in the early eighties, modified anaglyph 3DTV versions were
released on video by MCA, who quickly pulled them off the market.
