Actually, that's not really a stretch at all, it's just a perfectly logical
explanation. I don't believe that the movie ever explains what KIND of a 3D
fan (movies vs comics) the character is. On the other hand now, about that
old bullet wound that travels around Dr. Watson's body in various Sherlock
Holmes stories...
