I too am no Einstein, however, on skimming through the text of the
patent, it appears as though he's trying to create a "hologram" on
film. He generates two images by using two fiber optic pathways which
are then corrected by lenses and then pointed into the lens by mirrors.
I think the most important phrase is on page 6, second column near the
bottom. It reads (and I quote)...
>Moreover, by using a Lipmann's projection system it is also possible to
>make use of a film or plate3 exposed in a camera as described above in
>order to obtain a three-dimensional motion-picture arrangement.
Now, the big question is... What's a Lipmann's projection system?
