I didn't see Brenda's original post (I've been away), but Bill's
comments tell only some of the story.
Over the production run there were numerous improvements. At first the
miniature solenoid that holds the shutter open was only just strong
enough for the job. If it didn't hold, the shutter remained closed. The
Japanese cameras used a stronger solenoid and passed more current
through it. This helped reliability no end!
I converted a Nimslo to a "Bobslo" for Derek Merfield that took pairs of
25mm square chips with a lens separation of 50mm. Belplasca-like 1 and 3
wind was built in.
Trouble was, I started with a UK camera. Which totally refused to
workafter conversion! So I used the UK body and converted a Japanese
lens panel. I had to do some "fitting" to get the Japanese lens panel to
fit the UK body! They LOOK the same, but were obviously completely
re-tooled.
I didn't know David sold repair kits - I've never heard of them. He has
found me the odd solenoid, but Burdlo shutter blades etc were all used
in his own conversions as far as I know - I had to make my own.
Can't wait to see if David replies to Bill's post, but don't hold your
breath - David is extremely busy with his 3-D business!

P.S. I've just noticed that Bill CCed to "Burder@xxxxxxx". That should
have been "Burder3D@xxxxxxx". I know - I helped him set up his AOL
account!
