P3D Tell-Tale Heart
Message text written by INTERNET:photo-3d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
>Heard a rumor that the Vincent Price narrated "Tell-tale Heart" polarized
cartoon opened the re-release of "Dial M For Murder" with no confirmation.
It didn't play in Houston or I would have seen it. Still my favorite 3-D
film is "House of Wax" and have a poster for "Bwana Devil" Robert Stack
signed for me.<
The film opened originally for "Drums of Tahiti". Since "Tell-Tale Heart"
was a Columbia release and "Dial M" was done by Warner Bros. it's highly
unlikely that they played together anywhere first-run. I just noticed that
you referred to a "re-release", however, and it's possible some
enterprising theater booker may have brought them together for some kind of
revival. Incidentally, the film was narrated by James Mason, not Vincent
Price. I've never had an opportunity to see it in 3D, but watching it flat,
it looks as though it would be stunning in depth. It was done by UPA
Studios, whose cartoons in the early '50s (Gerald McBoing Boing, Mr. Magoo,
Madeline, etc.) broke a lot of new ground graphically.
