P3D Re: PHOTO-3D digest 2550

ANAGLYPH TIP: There is also a technique that has been applied to Stereo
Motion Pictures where a split filter, red and green or blue is placed
behind the rear of the lens. According to the person who did the
development, a ND filter is also used to insure that equal exposures are
attained.

In 1974, 75 (?) American cinematographer did a special 3D issue showing
this technique. In fact, the issue was printed in stereo and viewers were
supplied.

When I called the developer of the technique, he recommended that a
hairline gap be placed between the filters. I have also been told that the
technique works well if the split filter is placed in front of the lens,
have not tried this though.
