Don't want to spend too much time on this (again),
but do we agree or not ?
I absolutely disagree with you on this subject.
When you s-u-b-s-c-r-i-b-e to this list, either for
the first time or, for instance, if your mail address
has changed, you'll get a list of instructions from
our moderators. One of the instructions reads:
(not an exact citation) Keep line lengths well within
70 or so characters, so that when somebody answers your
question/comment/whatever and his/her mail machine
creates those < / >/ | / whatever (mine does not), the
line length will be kept well within the 80 chars max.
most of us use.
And you tell me this is off-topic ?
If you are one of those who never read your own messages
back again, you won't be hit by this phenomenae, but
if you do your utmost to read everything that is
published on this list, which I do, it's a real annoyance
to scroll to the right for 400, 500 or even more than
700 characters, I can assure you. So what's up ?
Reaction of the moderators ? Anyone else ?
If nobody has problems with this, I'll keep my mouth
shut in the future and suffer in silence but we all did
agree on the rules, didn't we ?
