Since the image goes through an LC panel and mirrors
there must be some loss of quality.<

I'm sure Lawrence and/or myself will have more insight after the SCSC demo
in three weeks, but concerning the "flicker", this is more a result of your
glasses than the image, so I don't think this system would be any better or
worse than any other. Also, if the optics are well-made, I can't see where
there would be any greater loss of quality than, for instance, using a
filter or two. I'm very curious about the system, and I'm looking forward
to seeing it for myself.
