As a newbie I have a few questions.

What is carboarding?

Also, just got my 'new' Realist and wanted to check a couple of things as I
wait for the Zerox of the manual to arrive. I loaded it and set the frame
counter to 1. I took a shot and pushed the button next to the winder once. I
could then advance to the next frame. I took another shot, pushed the button
and advanced again. Looking at the arrow marking on the advance knob it
looks like it adavances two (?) frames on ever other advance. Is this right?
I don't have to do anything else do I to avoid it re-exposing on every other
frame? Am I explaining this clearly?

And another - is the hot-shoe electronic flash compatible?

I am impressed at how clear the coupled-rangefinder is although I need to
get used to having my left hand out of the way.

What about the red indicator dot thing on the top to the left of the
hot-shoe - what is it showing? Cocked shutter? Film advanced?

When I focus, I can't see any elements or the lens moving. Is this an
internal focusing affair?

Finally - what is the thread size for filters? This is a f3.5 camera.
Ok - really finally. There is a sticker on the bottom saying "Restored by
Zak" - is this a good thing? Who be Zak?

Thanks for your indulgence,
