Jon Gross, one of the list members, came up with a conversion technique
for the Realist heat sealer (the one that no-body knows how to use) that
is rather unique. By inverting the heating unit and attaching the
alignment jig to the heating element, you have a perfectly shaped
sealing iron. I have converted two heaters already, and they work great
(To the people waiting for irons, yes I will get the rest sometime this
year!)

I believe Jon took photos and submitted an article to Stereo World, of
the conversion. The modifications are permanent, so you have to be
willing to break up your mounting kit to make the sealing iron.
