P3D Archival storage pages - New & Improved version

I am pleased to announce that a "New & Improved" version of my
archival stereo slide storage pages is now shipping in quantity.*

The new version of the slide storage page is a result of changes
made by Print File to their 2x2-20HBF storage page.** The frosted
back*** of this page is now much finer and smoother in appearance
than it was previously. I think this will dramatically reduce the
possibility of the irregular appearance of the (old) frosted back
interfering with freeviewing your slides.

Also, the seams between the pockets of the new page are much
tougher**** than the old seams. I believe that with the new
tougher seams, there should no longer be any concern about
using the pages for RBT mounted slides. (The thickness of
the RBT would--very rarely--cause a center seam of the old
page to split, so that the slides would not stay in place when
turning the pages in an album.) EMDE binders still do not fit
in the pockets, however.

Other technical info you might be interested in: the pages are
made from 10-mil polypropylene; they are 3-hole punched to store
in a binder, or they may be hung in a filing cabinet; each page
holds 10 Realist format (5P or 7P) mounted slides.

Purchase information appeared last week in Sell-3D, and will appear
there again from time to time.

I apologize to those who received a sample of the old page. Those
were sent from my personal supply before I received the new pages.
Contact me off-list if you received a sample of the old page and
would like a free replacement sample of the new page.

*Take a wild guess who received quantity shipment #1. ;) ;)

**I have contacted Print File about the changes in the pages, and
learned that all the pages I had previously purchased from them
were from a time when they were unhappy with the consistency of
the frosted backs they were receiving from their supplier. The
"new" pages are actually more like a return to the original quality
level of the product. (They do fully stand behind their product,
and will always give a refund or exchange if requested.)

***For those not familiar with the frosted back of the archival pages,
it has an interesting effect. I don't know what the technical term
for the effect is, but here is what you see: you can lay the page
on top of printed text, for example, a newspaper, and read the text
just fine through the page. However, if you lift the storage page
up about 1 inch (2-3 cm) above the newspaper, the text becomes
very blurred and unreadable. By about 5-6 inches (say, 10-15 cm)
above the newspaper, you can barely distinguish the black printing
from the white background. Thus, when holding a page of slides
up to a light source, everything behind the page, including the
light source, is blurred so as not to greatly interfere with
viewing your images.

****It appeared for a couple days that the new tougher seam might
prevent me from making my modifications that allow these pages to
hold stereo slides. After a lot of experimentation, ruined pages
(along with many expletives), and some physical injury (!), I
managed to come up with a successful approach. There is a minor
cosmetic effect of the new seam and production method, but I don't
believe it has any adverse effect on the use of the storage pages.
