P3D Synchronized Canon Elph (APS) cameras?

Has anyone looked into synchronizing the Canon Elph APS camera?  The
amazing feature of this camera is that it's only 3.5" wide, so it could be
used for not-too-hyper stereo shots, and also would make a very compact and
lightweight twin rig.
