P3D Trademarks

Here is a strange twist on the matter of copyrights, trademarks, etc., from
the pages of Tell Tale, the pages of a group interested in the history of
the Northern Pacific Railroad, a part of Burlington Northern since 1970. If
this is inappropriate I apologize, but it may tie in with Mr. X of Photo-3D.
> Fort Worth--North America's second-largest railroad is taking on a
>tireless critic: an unemployed engineer with a litigious nature, two
>caustic Web sites and a coveted trademark.
> Burlington Northern Santa Fe filed a federal suit in Fort Worth this
>week against William Purdy of St. Paul, Minn., a fourth-generation
>railroader who became a high-tech safety gadfly after he cut off a
>co-worker's legs in a September 1989 train accident.
> A former employee and shareholder who has launched quixotic campaigns
>to get on the company's board of directors, Purdy is the proud owner of
>US Registration No. 2,047,970. It gives him rights to the BNSF initials
>emblazoned on the company's trains.
> Purdy beat Burlington Northern Santa Fe, the railway giant created by
>a merger in 1995, to the trademark office.
> He registered BNSF with the US Patent and Trademark Office in March,
>the suit states. In June, he incorporated BNSF Corp. in Minnesota and
>registered the Internet names www.bnsf.org and www.bnsf.ne.
