P3D Long-baseline synchronisation (LBS)

Just a follow-up for those who suggested that I try an air-release for
LBS. I found some bits of tube, etc, in a second-hand shop last week, and
put them together with what I already had. I found that the hose (1/8")
and unions (T-joints, 1/8-3/16") for car windscreen-washers were perfect
for joining on to the air-release hose, and along with some hose for fish
tank pumps to connect the 3/16" items, got an apparently good setup. The
bonus was that there was also a non-return valve as well as the pipe and
unions, so that does me for long exposures as well. I have to release one
of the unions in order to close the shutter when on B, but with a bit more
effort, I shall concoct a proper release valve of some sort. First films
are in the lab just now, and I shall see tonight whether or not it has
actually been successful.
Thanks to all for suggestions.
Duncan W
