P3D Greece in 3D
>I'd love to take 3-D photos of ruins in Greece - I'll be on a backpacking
>trip there this coming May. I don't know much about photography, but I do
>have a good eye for interesting shots.
Welcome to the club! (stereo enthusiasts photographing the monuments -we
prefer monuments to ruins- in Greece). Last week I gave a program for the
Cleveland stereo club about Greece. If I ever managed to incorporate a
nice narration and sounds to this program I might show it to a wider
public.
The tools I use for taking pictures in Greece are: 1) Stereo Realist, 2)
Minolta-X700s. Some of my best pictures are single camera handheld
hyperstereos from the top of Acropolis. Twin cameras in a bar separated by
6 to 12 inches are also good for mild hyperstereos. Using 135 mm lenses
you can focus on close ups on the monuments, etc. The Realist will record
lots of interesting pictures around Athens and in the islands.
With 300 days of sunlight a year, the sunny day rule works fantastic in
Greece! Keep your cameras protected from the sand and water.
