Read this today: "WALT DISNEY Pictures now plan to release a sequel to
PIXAR's TOY STORY in theaters, instead of releasing it direct-to-video.
Due in the 1999 holiday season, the sequel will feature the voices of
the actors (Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, etc...) who appeared in the first
film, and will be directed by the same team of Ash Brannon and Colin
Brady. In TOY STORY 2, Andy goes off to summer camp and leaves his toys
behind, leaving it up to his toys at home to rescue Woody (Tim Allen)
from a toy collector that stole him."

I wonder if there will be new ViewMasters from this... Now there would
be a good cassette for the new talking system. Maybe that could save it?
=)

BTW - speaking of VM. I mentioned that I was surprised that a local
Toys-R-Us had NO blister packs. The two employees there said that they
were having a hard time getting stock. I suggested that maybe it had
something to do with the recent selling of the company... I could not
remember the details, but one of them said, "yes, we bought them, and
that might be part of it". I looked puzzled by her statement and she
said, "yeah, Mattel..." She took notes on my opinion that there should
be a readily available black viewer, and that scenics and special
interest subject should be more readily available. She agreed that it
might just help boost the market... I have no idea who I was talking to,
but she was aiding a TRS employee stock viewer packs from cartons, and
was VERY interested in what I had to say. I wonder if it was someone who
can do something about it... We will see! =)
