There tend to be a lot of posts on the order of "I faxed some photocopies
of my slides, and the results didn't look as good as the original, so
therefore digital will never be any good". (OK, so I exaggerated slightly. :-)

It's refreshing to see a first-hand account from the forefront of what can
be done *now* in digital. (The cost and complexities described also
illustrate that it will be a while before processes at this quality level
are readily available to most of us.)
