Two reasons:
1) I still see the perspective distortion to a noticeable degree
and am definitely more comfortable when viewing ortho. (I.e.: I
can _tolerate_ perspective distortion but I don't _like_ it.)
2) I show stereo slides to newcomers a lot and to old stereo
hands almost never. I don't want to mess with these new people
who aren't used to perspective distortion in stereo (yet).
I thought your example of how we've all gotten used to mono distortion
through the newspapers (and film and TV) was great. How true! I can
remember being bothered enormously by wide angle shots in the newspaper
when they first started becoming a regular feature. Now I think it's
funny but fun, as an art photo can be.

Hear! Hear! Right on, right on, right on. Highly saturated films
are totally bizarre to me but I bet I'll get used to that, too, some day.
