P3D Realist success

Hmmm, let's put this in perspective here. The original price tag of a
Realist was around $200, correct? Today they sell for around $150. In terms
of today's dollar value, that means people were willing to pay the
equivilent to around $2000 for a Realist back then, making the present
market value less than 1/10th it's original value.

It also means that the current RBT is just as affordable as the Realist was
in the early 1950's.

Would people today pay $2000 for a Realist, when they could have an RBT for
the same price? Or is the format popular because it is affordable? It's
definately a bargain at $150, no doubt about that.

I do agree that all format and cameras are indeed flawed, although there are
certainly some that are more flawed than others. I get great results from my
realists, belplasca and my own designs, although as of yet I couldn't
possibly narrow my usage down to a single camera.
