My very first roll in my Realist (from Dr. T)
was Velvia. As I got further into the roll the
advance got harder and harder until I was worried
the film was going to tear (or the camera break)
or perhaps I had loaded the film wrong. I did
make it thru without damage.
Roll 2 was Kodachrome and it went much easier.
It appears that the anti-halation (sp?) backing
lets the Kodachrome slide through easier.
I have heard that focusing at infinity before
advancing takes some pressure off the pressure
plate so advancing may be easier (because of the
Realist's method of moving the film plane to focus).
Haven't tried it since I mostly shoot Kodachrome 25.
