Ummm, I think a quick check the archives will yield quite a few
references to this, in recent as well an ancient discussions. While I
have seen a few examples of RB glass which has not flat of contrast, I
agree they seem relatively rare.
I'd also agree that the contrast on the coated K2 lenses is probably the
best, plus you don't have reflections comming back at you. I've also
discovered that if one adjusts the interocular carefully, a pretty
satisfying point of focus can be reached where the field appears to hold
focus with 7 perf almost as well as the RBs and Wollys and about as well
or slightly better than Reveres.
On an unrelated topic... I've worked up an excellent inexpensive means
of filtering the ac lamps in K2s and Green Buttons to yield what appears
to be a really nice daylight color temp instead of that horrid orange;
to my eyes what appears to be as good or better a light than with
halogens. Anyone interested can email me and I'll pass the info along...
