A slightly more serious note on the same topic...  Not too long ago I
was at the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park.  In the gallery with
the full-scale dioramas of various wildlife, they had a couple of tables
with a temporary exhibit.  Part of the exhibit consisted of
stereographic pictures of some of the same wildlife depicted in the
dioramas.

The presentation medium for these stereopairs was... the ViewMaster
viewer.  However, these particular viewers had had some custom
modifications done.  They had bent some heavy-gauge metal plates to wrap
around the top of the viewer, thus preventing the reel from being
removed, and also around the bottom, evidently for durability.  The
viewer itself was attached to the table with a long chain of
twisted-wire links which attached securely to the bottom plate.  Neither
the viewers, nor the images they contained, were going *anywhere* (short
of a pair of boltcutters).
