Hmmm, would that make 3-D (i.e. stereoscopic) movies 4-D!?!
They have height, width, depth, and motion (time).
Seriously, I brought up this idea/question awhile back.
John Merritt subsequently mentioned to me that this idea
was shared by Steve Wixson of Birmingham, Alabama, who
used that term when showing 3D medical images in motion.
P.S. When I had stumbled on those 3-D chips I also saw
a package of 3-D lenticulars featured in some Greek cereal
packages. When I opened them up (at home of course!) they
were motion lenticulars with no stereoscopic imagery.
